  • Vegan zucchini boats with quinoa
Today’s recipe is a bit of a fusion dish – a result of chronic indecision, which has plagued me ever since I was a child 😉 . As our weather is definitely on the summery side these days, our local veg store has started carrying piles of beautiful, young zucchinis. As soon as I saw them, I had to buy some. My initial idea was to prepare (...more)

  • Pulled jackfruit tacos
After the success of my bao bun recipe, jackfruit has become a bit of an obssession…The trouble is, no one sells it here 🙁 . There is one shop, which orders them for me, but as it takes a few weeks between me placing an order and the order actually arriving, I need to be organised about my recipe testing and creation when it comes to this elusive (...more)

  • Spicy roasted red pepper hummus
Today’s recipe is a twist on my lunch staple, the mighty hummus. The flavour was inspired by my neighbour, Suzie, whom I promised a big ass chocolate cake in return for feeding my cats while we were away in Athens a few weeks ago. I nearly got a heart attack when this pretty far gone chocoholic, who would normally devour half of my cake while (...more)

  • Homemade Ferrero Rocher
I’ve been good for a while so I think it’s time for a little indulgence, guys! A while ago a friend challenged me to make a vegan version of Ferrero Rocher truffles. I am a big fan of both chocolate and hazelnuts so my hand really didn’t need much twisting. As it turned out, these were quite simple to make and they went down a storm (...more)

  • Spring salad with caper dressing
Spring is in the air, finally! When I’m taking photos now, part of me wishes I could be outside enjoying the sunshine, swaying in my hammock and watching my cat get up to no good prowling in the garden. That’s a stark contrast to how, only recently, I kept my window closed for most of my shoot, how i had a pot of fresh ginger tea going the (...more)

  • Spring cheeseless pizza
We don’t make pizza at home very often as we are lucky to have a very good pizzeria not too far away. In summer, another amazing pizza place with heaps of vegan pizzas opens even closer to us, so going out for pizza is something we tend to do to relax, to get away from cooking and enjoy properly made pizza made by someone who makes pizza for a (...more)

  • Asian slaw with peanut tofu
How have you guys been? If you celebrate Easter, I hope you’re not feeling too overstuffed or sluggish? Gathering with family and friends over a meal is awesome, but if you’re not careful all this grazing can lead to a bit of a binge. Or maybe it’s just me and my utter lack of self-control…We’ve had a quiet weekend, filled (...more)

  • Gigantes plaki
Being vegan during Greek Easter is hard. In the weeks prior to Easter, when all the fields are covered with lush grass and beautiful wild flowers, you see lots of sweet little lambs frolicking around, enjoying the spring sunshine and trimming the ‘lawns’. They seem so happy and carefree and it makes me sad when we drive past one week later (...more)

  • Oyster mushroom stir-fry
If you follow me on Instagram , you have probably heard that my oven is broken – I moaned about it a fair amount 😉 . On one hand, I do miss baking, but on the other it is a good thing as I’ve been going a bit too ‘cake happy’ in the past few weeks and I was meaning to tone it down for a while now. Before I even realised there (...more)

  • Vegan hot cross buns
When I used to live in the UK, I never had time to make my own hot cross buns. I used to rely on the ones that you used to get in a packet of six at the supermarket which were overly sweet and tasted of stale flour and preservatives. I guess I shouldn’t be surprised that a bread product that keeps for at least a week isn’t going to be particularly (...more)
