  • Spring cheeseless pizza
We don’t make pizza at home very often as we are lucky to have a very good pizzeria not too far away. In summer, another amazing pizza place with heaps of vegan pizzas opens even closer to us, so going out for pizza is something we tend to do to relax, to get away from cooking and enjoy properly made pizza made by someone who makes pizza for a (...more)

  • Asian slaw with peanut tofu
How have you guys been? If you celebrate Easter, I hope you’re not feeling too overstuffed or sluggish? Gathering with family and friends over a meal is awesome, but if you’re not careful all this grazing can lead to a bit of a binge. Or maybe it’s just me and my utter lack of self-control…We’ve had a quiet weekend, filled (...more)

  • Gigantes plaki
Being vegan during Greek Easter is hard. In the weeks prior to Easter, when all the fields are covered with lush grass and beautiful wild flowers, you see lots of sweet little lambs frolicking around, enjoying the spring sunshine and trimming the ‘lawns’. They seem so happy and carefree and it makes me sad when we drive past one week later (...more)

  • Oyster mushroom stir-fry
If you follow me on Instagram , you have probably heard that my oven is broken – I moaned about it a fair amount 😉 . On one hand, I do miss baking, but on the other it is a good thing as I’ve been going a bit too ‘cake happy’ in the past few weeks and I was meaning to tone it down for a while now. Before I even realised there (...more)

  • Vegan hot cross buns
When I used to live in the UK, I never had time to make my own hot cross buns. I used to rely on the ones that you used to get in a packet of six at the supermarket which were overly sweet and tasted of stale flour and preservatives. I guess I shouldn’t be surprised that a bread product that keeps for at least a week isn’t going to be particularly (...more)

  • Vegan rigatoni with saffron, capers and tomatoes
When we returned home from our holiday last week, my empty fridge, which I was so pleased with when we were leaving, became a bit of a bleak dinner prospect. I couldn’t face going food shopping so I rummaged through my cupboards and decided to make something out of what I had: a sad onion, some garlic cloves, a jar of Indonesian chilli paste, (...more)

  • Vegan carrot loaf with cashew frosting
A recipe for a carrot cake was one of my first cake recipes on the blog. It took me so many tries to arrive at the perfect ratios that I remember having a bit of an embarrassing breakdown and seriously doubting my cooking skills. This stupid cake reduced me to a sobbing mess crouched down on my kitchen floor. By the time I wiped off my tears, the last (...more)

  • Homemade vegan bbq sauce with sweet potato fries
As we are wandering through Athens, basking in the early spring sunshine and getting stuffed on amazing Athenian falafels (I know falafels aren’t Greek, but after many months on Paros we are craving non-Greek food for a change). I’ve decided to leave you with a simple and very minimalist recipe today. It is crispy sweet potato fries dipped (...more)

  • Vegan BLT sandwich with aquafaba mayo
Is it picnic time yet? We’re hanging for a bit of a sunny day off (I tend to photograph for the blog whenever the sky is blue) to be able to stroll around the hills of Paros, which are breathtakingly beautiful at this time of the year (I will post a photo on Instagram once we do). We’ve had a lot of rain and tempestuous weather this winter, (...more)

  • Cinnamon and raisin bagels
Strictly from the eating perspective, I’ve always absolutely loved bagels. When I was introduced to the cinnamon and raisin bagel, I couldn’t believe there could be anything with a nicer texture and flavour! In the Australian suburbs where I grew up, one of the many slightly unhealthy breakfast options was a thing called “cinnamon (...more)
